While many states have now legalized or decriminalized cannabis, the number of arrests for possession and distribution are still alarmingly high and Thousands of humans are currently incarcerated for cannabis related offenses. These facts are disturbingly juxtaposed against the multibillion-dollar cannabis industry that currently benefits industry giants as well as state and federal tax authorities.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”American Warden Section” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”0px||0px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}” global_module=”96760″ theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_3,1_3,1_3″ use_custom_gutter=”on” gutter_width=”1″ make_equal=”on” _builder_version=”4.17.4″ _module_preset=”default” width=”100%” max_width=”100%” custom_padding=”0px||0px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ module_class=”mb_last_child_fix” _builder_version=”4.17.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_code admin_label=”American Warden” module_class=”hover_box” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]

American Warden

Despite being home to only 5% of the world’s population, America houses 25% of the world’s inmates. This fact lends the exhibition its title and is accompanied by a stark visual representation of how race impacts incarceration rates. It culminates in the alarming reality that any American male born after 2001, regardless of race, has a 1:13 chance of ending up behind bars. #YourBrother #YourSon #YourFather #You</pee>

Seed Your Garden: Illicit Cultivation

This homage to illicit cultivation operations explains the evolution of cultivation technology over the years. The “black market” cultivation space built into this exhibit is a replica of those often built by prohibition growers who hid them in basements, attics, secret rooms and many other creative places in an attempt to avoid persecution. Guests can learn how breeding under these conditions impacted cannabis genetics, chemistry and culture. </pee>

Seed Your Senses: Terpene Wall

Terpenes, or terpenoids, are the aromatic compounds in cannabis that give the plant its unique fragrance. In precisely the same way that aromatherapy can impact our mood- it is the combination of terpenoids and cannabinoids that endow each strain with a specific psychoactive personality. This interactive exhibit invites guests to physically experience the most common sativa-type and indica-type terpenes. </pee>
